What is stored, and where

Three things are written to your browser’s local storage, on the device you are using:

• Saved sections — the name, start, end and speed of each range you save, grouped by video.
• Recent videos — the ID, title and thumbnail URL of videos you have opened, so you can get back to them.
• Your settings — theme, rest between passes, pass limit, lead-in, ramp values and the display toggles.

None of it is transmitted to a TubeRepeat server, because there is no TubeRepeat server holding user data. It stays on the device until you remove it. Clearing site data in your browser deletes all of it, as does the Clear everything button in the settings panel. Private browsing windows discard it when they close.

No accounts

There is no sign-up, no email collection and no login. Nothing you do here is associated with an identity, because there is no identity to associate it with.

The embedded YouTube player

Videos are played by YouTube’s own embedded player, loaded from Google’s servers. That player is Google’s software running under Google’s policies: it may set cookies, record that a video was watched, and count the view towards the creator’s statistics — the same things that happen when you watch a video embedded on any other website.

TubeRepeat cannot see or control what the player does, and does not receive any data from it beyond the title, author and duration of the video you loaded — which are used to label the player and draw the timeline, and are stored only in your browser. Google’s handling of that data is described in their own privacy policy.

Analytics and advertising

TubeRepeat uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get used. It records the page you are on, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you have. To recognise a returning visit it sets its own cookies in your browser. That data goes to Google and is handled under Google’s privacy policy.

Alongside page views it counts five things happening, and nothing about them: that a video was loaded, that a loop was created, that the share panel was opened, that a share was completed, and that an embedded player ran. Each is a bare tally. The only detail attached to any of them is whether a completed share was a link or an embed code.

What it is not used for: there is no advertising on this site, no ad network, no remarketing, and nothing that follows you to other sites. Which video you opened, what you searched for, where you put your loop points and what you named your saved sections are never sent — those stay in your browser, as described above. Page views are recorded against the page address only, with the loop details stripped out.

If you would rather not be counted, any browser-level tracker blocker will stop it, as will the “Do Not Track” and equivalent settings that most blockers honour. Nothing on the site breaks when the analytics is blocked.

Loop links

A shared loop link carries the video ID, start, end and speed in the URL — nothing else. It contains no information about you and can be read by anyone you send it to, so treat it the way you would treat any link.

Children

TubeRepeat is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal information and has no accounts, it holds no data about anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is stored or where it goes, the date at the top of this page will change with it, and the change will be noted in the changelog.
